Small and large PVC round caps
We supply PVC round caps and square caps for industrial customers, which are used in numerous functions and areas of application thanks to their simple shape - from protective caps, e.g. for drills, pipes, round steel, screws, valves and much more. Their protective function is unrivalled and they are easy to use.
As the caps can be stretched slightly without much resistance when they are put on, we are happy to supply the round caps with an inside diameter 0.5 to 1.0 mm smaller than the outside diameter of the fitting part to be protected.
For this reason, they are usually selected precisely for the respective application, so that variants are also possible, such as PVC round caps with pull-off tabs, um to facilitate the desired disassembly. KREMER supplies PVC round caps made of Krevosol® for commercial purposes:

Round caps are used, among other things, to protect the razor-sharp cutting edges of drills and milling cutters from damage. They fulfil the basic requirements that they are easy to fit and also ensure that they are not too loose, but sufficiently tight so that they do not get lost during transport.
Tolerances and dimensional accuracy of PVC round caps
For the production of PVC round caps for our commercial customers, we require a tolerance of +/- 2.0 mm for the inner length. A tolerance of +/- 0.25 mm applies to the wall thickness. Wall thicknesses of 0.8-1.5 mm are usually required, as otherwise the round caps cannot be reliably demoulded after production. We will be happy to inform you of the planned minimum wall thickness. We also recommend that the dimensions of your PVC round caps are approx. 0.5 to 1 mm smaller in order to ensure a firm and tight fit and easy installation.

Important quality information on round caps
Due to the production process of dipping, run-off drops and marks may occur on the round caps. This is not a defect in the product!
Customised PVC-Krevosol® immersion parts according to your specifications and wishes
The starting point for the production of all immersion parts is a natural transparent PVC base material. This transparent PVC base material can be used to produce dipped parts of different hardnesses, but also a Krevosol ® PVC type that allows a view through and thus, for example, a view of digital or analogue displays behind it.
The dipped part itself could be used as splash protection, for example. By adding colour batches, KREMER offers you a wide range of colours, which is particularly important if you want to optimise the signal effect of the immersion part in addition to the desired immersion part function.
You can choose between 8 RAL standard colours or 30 other special colours. A large number of moulds are already available for the production of standard dimensions, which is why we can manufacture and supply you with PVC caps quickly and cost-effectively.
Special PVC material with pearl structure look
We use PVC-Krevosol ® grades with a pearl structure look to produce dipped parts with a matt, fine-pored and skin-friendly surface. They are available in six colours: black, sky blue, red, green, orange and light grey.
KREMER is happy to supply this special material on request. The non-slip surface of PVC dipped parts with a pearl structure look is particularly suitable for drumstick handles so that they are non-slip and do not slip out of the hand. The pearl-textured look also has a high-quality appearance.
Special material HT (higher temperature resistant)
Higher temperature-resistant PVC material is used for special applications. Our immersion parts made of HT material can easily withstand a temperature of +225°C and a load duration of 30 minutes. The following formula describes the service life as a function of the service temperature: A 10 Kelvin higher service temperature reduces the service life by 50% and vice versa.
- Example 1: Application temperature 235°C = 225°C + 10K = (30min -50%) = 15 min.
- Example 2: Operating temperature 205°C = 225°C - 2 x 10K corresponds to ((30 min. + 50%) + 50%) = 67.5 min.
The high-temperature special material HT is ideally suited for flexible caps as protective caps or cover caps and as paint protection when powder coating metallic products at higher temperatures of approx. 180°C. Round caps and Rectangular caps protect the surface parts without powder coating.
Cover caps can usually be used several times at 180°C for around 15 minutes as paint covers during powder coating. Over time, however, they become brittle and hard and must be replaced. The caps should only be removed when they have cooled down to prevent deformation.

Photoluminescent PVC round caps
Thanks to a special colour pigment in the PVC caps and coatings, the energy of the light is absorbed and gradually released again if, for example, the power fails in a production plant: the afterglow effect sets in.
In daylight, the PVC round caps, rectangular caps or PVC-coated metal parts, such as door handles and levers, are milky white in colour, but turn green in the dark. Although the afterglow decreases with prolonged darkness, the green colour is still visible for a very long time in the event of an emergency. In companies where acids and alkalis are used, this afterglow effect is very important in the event of an emergency.
The colour pigment can be mixed into all PVC Krevosol types without negatively affecting the material. It can be used for phthalate-free Krevosol types for medical or orthopaedic applications as well as for the biocompatible Krevosol 1649. However, ESD applications cannot be coloured because the electrical surface resistance is only generated with the colour black.

Hard PVC material for the manufacture of moulded parts with maximum rigidity and hardness. Available in one of the 8 standard colours on request.
85 Shore A, medium-hard
Medium-hard PVC material for mechanically highly stressed round caps and rectangular caps and customised dipped parts in black RAL 9005, red RAL 3000 and natural-transparent.

82 Shore A, phthalate-free/biocompatible

75 Shore A, Optional ESD applications
PVC material for the production of electrically insulating sheaths and coatings for components in all 17 standard colours, including natural-transparent.
ON REQUEST
For the transport and handling of electronic devices and components, KREMER can reduce the electrical surface resistance from 10^12 Ohm to 10^7 Ohm by optionally adding agents for ESD applications. However, this only applies to the colour black RAL 9005.
68 Shore A, Standard type, optional for increased UV/ozone resistance
The standard PVC material for the production of standardised round and rectangular cap dimensions as well as for customised dipped parts with a standard hardness of 68 Shore A for easy assembly. Dip tanks in all 8 standard colours are always available for production.
ON REQUEST
Increased UV and ozone resistance can be achieved by the optional addition of agents. However, this only applies to the colours black RAL 9005 and red RAL 3000.

68 Shore A, soft, high temperature resistant
Soft PVC material for the production of immersion parts, preferably in black RAL 9005, which are intended for temporary use at higher temperatures. The thermal stability of the HT material was determined in accordance with VW-P-1300 on dipped caps mounted on a mandrel. This was determined at 200°C / 45 min, at 190°C / 90 min and at 180°C / 180 min and it was deduced from this that the possible operating time doubles with a temperature 10K lower.
