In addition to these advantages, immersion parts made of soft PVC are also available in high quality, various shapes and colours. Our rectangular PVC caps are an inexpensive alternative to tool-based PVC moulded parts.
PVC caps made of Krevosol ® can be manufactured by KREMER with comparatively little technical effort - even to individual specifications - and offer excellent protection, for example for components made of flat steel, poles, posts or rectangular pipes.
This opens up numerous application possibilities in industry. As a business customer, KREMER offers you an extensive range of standard dimensions from existing moulds and other PVC dipped parts.
Rectangular caps and protective caps made of coloured PVC plastisol are extremely cost-effective to produce. At KREMER, you also benefit from a large selection of standard moulds for the production of dipped, round and square protective caps. As a rule, we use a soft PVC with a hardness of 68 Shore A, but special hardnesses of 85 Shore A and 96 Shore A are also possible at extra cost.
Tolerances and dimensional accuracy
For the production of PVC rectangular caps using the dipping process, we require a tolerance of +/- 2.0 mm for the usable inner length of the caps. A tolerance of +/- 0.25 mm applies to the wall thickness.
The wall thickness depends on the dwell time in the dip tank and the thickness of the dip core. The thicker the cross-section of the dip core, the greater the wall thickness of the dipped rectangular cap can be realised.
To ensure reliable demoulding of the rectangular caps, we cannot go below minimum wall thicknesses. As a rule, wall thicknesses of 0.8-1.5 mm can be assumed. We will be happy to provide you with the planned minimum wall thickness on request.
In the case of narrow, non-square rectangular caps and rectangular caps, the larger of the two cross-sectional dimensions is approx. 0.5 to 1 mm smaller and therefore undersized. The smaller dimension of the rectangular cross-section, on the other hand, corresponds to the nominal dimension. As the undersized side can be easily expanded when the cap is slipped on, this ensures sufficiently quick installation with a secure and tight fit.

We achieve dipped parts with a matt, fine-pored and skin-friendly surface using PVC-Krevosol ® types with a pearl structure look. We offer this special material on request. It is available in the colours black, sky blue, red, green, orange and light grey.
PVC dipped parts with a pearl structure look have a non-slip surface, which is why they are used for drumstick handles. The surface prevents hands from slipping and also has a very high-quality appearance.
Special applications require special materials: such as our higher temperature-resistant PVC material. Our immersion parts made of HT material are able to withstand a temperature of +225°C and a load duration of 30 minutes. The service life and service temperature are interdependent: A 10 Kelvin higher service temperature reduces the service life by 50% and vice versa.
- Example 1: Application temperature 235°C = 225°C + 10K = (30min -50%) = 15 min.
- Example 2: Operating temperature 205°C = 225°C - 2 x 10K corresponds to ((30 min. + 50%) + 50%) = 67.5 min.
The high-temperature special material HT is suitable for flexible caps as protective caps or cover caps and as heat-resistant paint protection when powder coating metallic products (up to approx. 180°C). At a temperature of 180°C for around 15 minutes, caps can generally be used several times before they become brittle and hard and need to be replaced. When removing them, make sure that the PVC protective caps have cooled down to avoid deformation.

Thanks to a special colour pigment, PVC caps and coatings glow green in the dark. The afterglow effect is used if, for example, the power suddenly fails in a production plant. The colour pigment absorbs energy from the light in the bright light and gradually releases it again in the dark.
In daylight, the colour of the PVC round caps, rectangular caps or PVC-coated metal parts, such as door handles and levers, is milky white. In the dark, they turn green in colour. Although the intensity of the afterglow decreases with prolonged darkness, the luminescent green colour can still be seen for a long time in the event of a sudden emergency. This is particularly important for companies that work with acids and alkalis.
82 Shore A, phthalate-free / biocompatible
Special, medium-hard PVC material for the sheathing/coating and manufacture of standardised and customised dipped parts for therapeutic devices, hospital accessories, children's toys, phthalate-free and biocompatible products.
Krevosol ® 1649 has very good resistance to disinfectants, which is particularly important for use in the medical and therapeutic fields.
The colours white RAL 9010, black RAL 9005, red RAL 3000 and telegrey RAL 7046 are available.
75 Shore A, phthalate-free / medical technology applications
Special PVC material for the coating and manufacture of immersion parts for medical and invasive medical applications, children's toys, phthalate-free products intended to come into contact with food.
Krevosol ® 3069 has very good resistance to disinfectants, which is particularly important for the medical and therapeutic sector.
The colours black RAL 9005, sky blue RAL 5015, red RAL 3000 and rapeseed yellow RAL 1021 are available.
75 Shore A, Optional ESD applications
PVC material for the production of electrically insulating sheaths and coatings for components in all 17 standard colours, including natural-transparent.
ON REQUEST
For the transport and handling of electronic devices and components, KREMER can reduce the electrical surface resistance from 10^12 Ohm to 10^7 Ohm by optionally adding agents for ESD applications. However, this only applies to the colour black RAL 9005.
68 Shore A, Standard type, optional for increased UV / ozone resistance
The standard PVC material for the production of standardised round and rectangular cap dimensions as well as for customised dipped parts with a standard hardness of 68 Shore A for easy assembly. Dip tanks in all 8 standard colours are always available for production.

Increased UV and ozone resistance can be achieved by the optional addition of agents. However, this only applies to the colours black RAL 9005 and red RAL 3000.
68 Shore A, soft, resistant to high temperatures
Soft PVC material for the production of immersion parts, preferably in black RAL 9005, which are intended for temporary use at higher temperatures. The thermal stability of the HT material was determined in accordance with VW-P-1300 on dipped caps mounted on a mandrel. This was determined at 200°C / 45 min, at 190°C / 90 min and at 180°C / 180 min and it was deduced from this that the possible service life doubles with a temperature 10K lower
