KREMER supplies EPDM profiles by the metre, piece lengths and vulcanised rings and frames

EPDM Gummiprofil
Kremer – Vulkanisierte EPDM U-Profildichtung
Kremer – Vulkanisierte Rundschnur-Ringe aus EPDM Moosgummi

KREMER manufactures customised EPDM profiles for industrial applications that are specifically designed for your application. The material properties of EPDM are ideal for outdoor use. EPDM profiles are characterised by high weather resistance and therefore high resistance to ozone, UV radiation, oxygen, rain or salt water.

EPDM profiles are therefore successfully used in vehicle and container construction and in the lighting industry.

Depending on the required delivery form, EPDM profiles are available as continuous lengths, as profile sections, bonded or impact-vulcanised rings and also as corner-vulcanised frame seals for customised production.

KREMER supplies you with precision extruded EPDM profiles made of solid rubber, as

    • Solid profiles
    • Hollow chamber profiles
    • Antiknarzprofile, with and without flock
    • Bride profiles - also known as clamp profiles
    • Gummiauflageprofile für Laminatklemmen the photovoltaic and wind power industry
    • Multi-component profiles with hard and soft solid rubber components
    • Multi-component profiles made from a material combination of solid rubber and sponge rubber.

To equip EPDM profiles with self-adhesive film, the geometry of the profile must have a flat surface to which the double-sided self-adhesive tape can be applied with or without thread reinforcement. The tape is applied using a pressure roller with two lateral guides. The self-adhesive tape guided in between will be approx. 2-3 mm narrower than the available width of the profile surface.

Particular attention should be paid to the installation of self-adhesive EPDM profiles and profile sections. Particularly in the case of soft EPDM profiles, the cover film can form slight waves on the self-adhesive film due to the possible longitudinal stretching and length compression and may also become partially detached during transport to the customer.

The installation of soft EPDM profiles with a self-adhesive finish in narrow groove geometries is problematic, as the adhesive film can easily come into premature contact with the groove wall during the joining process and the incorrect positioning can only be corrected by loosening and adjusting again - if at all. In this respect, the ease of installation and the correct position of the profile should be solved by design until the final installation.

Due to the variety of applications for EPDM profiles that we have been able to realise to date, the product consultants have access to a wealth of experience that includes many options. This wealth of experience gives us the opportunity to show you quick and competent solutions for your sealing task. Contact us at an early stage with your requirements and specifications! Let us know the details of the application, profile shape or geometry and we will provide you with a quick, customised quotation for EPDM profiles, profile sections, rings and frames that are precisely tailored to your application!

Sponge rubber profiles made from EPDM

Customised sponge rubber profiles, round and rectangular cords made of open-cell material with a closed outer skin have a lower density than profiles made of solid rubber due to their cellular structure. While the density of EPDM profiles made of solid rubber is approx. 1.2 g/cm, EPDM sponge rubber cords and sponge rubber profiles with a density of 0.5 g/cm³ are the norm. This means that somewhat greater tolerances must be observed when manufacturing sponge rubber profiles compared to profiles made of solid elastomers.

We therefore offer our customers and interested parties a calculation tool for rubber profiles and a calculation tool for sponge rubber profiles. In both tools, the tolerances of the cross-sectional dimensions of profile geometries and lengths of profile sections are calculated and clearly displayed. EPDM profiles made to measure? That's why KREMER!

Three reasons why you should choose KREMER when it comes to EPDM profiles:

          Expertise and experience

Many of our customers know exactly how their EPDM profiles must be designed and constructed to ensure that they function absolutely reliably. Other customers have no idea how the problem can be solved and ask our employees for expert and detailed advice. In both cases, it is essential that the profile experts at KREMER have the expertise to understand the processes in which the EPDM profiles are used and know all the details that play a role in their functionality. Over the course of our more than 50-year history, we have supplied customers from every conceivable sector and industry with EPDM profiles. Our wealth of experience in the use of EPDM profiles is correspondingly large. Based on this experience, we can offer you the best option even for tricky challenges.

          Speed

Availability is the be-all and end-all. The best development is useless if the product cannot be delivered promptly. This is precisely why we work very efficiently and flexibly for you: once we have received your enquiry with all the requirements and specifications, we prepare a transparent, informative and individual quotation - if all the parameters are known, usually within the working week within 24 hours. You will also be impressed by our fast delivery times. Thanks to our established network, we are able to fulfil your delivery time requirements.

Quality that meets the highest demands

In view of the many possible material and geometry variants in which EPDM profiles can be manufactured, customised solutions are often required. In short: your EPDM profiles must be 100% customised to your application. Your expectations are therefore correspondingly high - after all, process reliability and product quality depend on the reliable function of the EPDM profiles. As we at KREMER rely exclusively on suppliers with whom we and our customers have had excellent experiences in the past, we can fulfil these strict specifications and quality requirements at all times. In addition, we are ISO 9001:2015 certified and also select our suppliers according to ecological and ethical criteria.
