What is ASTM?

The American Society for Testing and Materials , or ASTM for short, is an American organization that develops standardized testing and analysis procedures in the USA.

The ASTM was founded in 1898 by Charles Benjamin Dudley. This year, the first ASTM standard was also developed: the quality of steel to be used for railway lines in order to reduce the number of rail breaks.

To date, there are more than 12,000 ASTM standards .
