Konstruktionsbüro Stele GmbH specialises in the development, design and production of technical products. For a washing robot for the pigsties at BEG Schulze Bremer GmbH, the company was looking for a solution that would protect the sensitive control element of the device, which is exposed to a wide variety of stresses during use. The importance of animal welfare and animal health is becoming increasingly important for consumers, and with it the demand for better conditions in animal husbandry. Washing robots are a practical aid in pig farming to clean stalls thoroughly and efficiently and thus improve animal welfare.

The material properties of silicone are particularly suitable for use in damp rooms. Silicone has very good resistance to ozone and weathering, good resistance to media and can be moulded with maximum flexibility. Silicone seals offer solutions for a wide range of applications, as they are not only particularly robust but also water-resistant. In the case of the washing robot, however, the seals do even more: they are insensitive to ammonia gas and aqueous ammonia and have already proven themselves many times over when installed in switch cabinets. For our customer, we have also made the silicone seals self-adhesive on one side to aid installation.
