Precisely customised: EPDM profiles for vacuum presses

Many enquiries start with perfect data: There are drawings or 3D data from which we can prepare a quotation very quickly. Then there are enquiries and projects where no drawings are available, but only a profile section or even just a mould of a profile cross-section that still needs to be adapted. This was also the case for our customer ATMOS Vakuumpressen GmbH from Hof in Bavaria. We drew an EPDM profile from a stamp impression of a seal and promptly printed an initial sample.

Cutting device for cutting to length

After the sample was approved, 500 metres of seals were produced as the first series quantity. As the ATMOS company wants to cut the profiles to length itself in order to mitre them, we also built a cutting device that enables them to be cut to length cleanly.

The first systems with our seals have already been built and are used in the wood veneer sector, in the thermoforming of plastics and in other applications. By precisely matching the sealing profile to the ATMOS vacuum presses, we have realised a perfect result.

Vacuum presses in use: Sublimation

ATMOS Vakuumpressen GmbH builds vacuum presses in the sizes requested and required by customers. A major topic at ATMOS is finishing by sublimation. In sublimation, photos, texts or patterns are transferred into the solid surface material or acrylic-based material to create a permanent image on the surface. The sublimated material can then be thermoplastically moulded in the same way as unsublimated material. All surfaces that can be provided with a polyester-based coating can also be sublimated.
