Efficient flood protection with TPE profiles
Profiles made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomers) are primarily used as seals in flood protection. These profiles provide an effective seal against water and are ideal for flood protection thanks to their resistance to weathering, ageing, ozone and UV radiation. In flood protection, TPE profiles are generally used in conjunction with other protection systems to prevent the ingress of water. With our extremely soft and elastic TPE material, for example, long aluminium rails can be perfectly sealed against each other.

Requirements for TPE profiles for flood protection:
- Watertightness: The profiles must seal reliably against water to prevent the ingress of flood water.
- Resistance: TPE profiles for flood protection must be resistant to weathering, ageing, ozone, UV radiation, acids, bases, ketones and alcohols.
- Flexibility: The profiles should be flexible so that they can adapt to different surfaces and structures.
- Temperature range: In general, TPE can be used at temperatures between -50 and +120°C.
- Adaptability: The profiles should be available in different lengths and shapes to adapt to different protection areas.
- Quality standards: In addition to the specific quality requirements for certain applications, the quality of the sealing profiles must always be right. At KREMER, we adhere exactly to a defined tolerance.
