This year he would have celebrated his golden wedding anniversary at KREMER: Our esteemed colleague Jürgen Franz is retiring on 31 May 2024 after 49 years with the company.

His career began in 1974 with an apprenticeship as an office clerk at KREMER. Jürgen Franz remembers that he did more or less everything back then as an apprentice: whether it was unloading the lorry, taking away the lottery ticket or helping with the apple harvest. He also remembers his first contact with a computer in 1975 at the vocational school in Hanau.

After his apprenticeship, he continued his career at KREMER in Purchasing and Sales, where he was promoted to Sales Manager South at the age of 25. This was followed by several years in Controlling before he finally took over as Head of Quotations in 2019. In specialist consulting, his focus has been on seals for many years. In his almost five decades at KREMER, Jürgen Franz has accompanied many changes and projects as a reliable and committed colleague. For him, the most significant changes include the introduction of the Internet, the introduction of IT and the internationalisation of the company. He accompanied all these upheavals and never lost his sense of humour, which we particularly appreciate about him. His credo was always: treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.

After such a long time, Jürgen Franz can of course immediately think of many highlights from everyday working life: Starting with the move to a larger office building in 1976, the opening of the Kinzigtal, the many company outings, parties and stag parties for colleagues and the 49 Christmas parties. He is now looking forward to being able to organise his time freely in retirement. As his wife is still working, he will soon have plenty of time for sport (he has been jogging for 40 years and regularly rides his mountain bike) and his special hobby, a blue 1973 Chevrolet Corvette C3. We wish him all the best for this new chapter in his life and thank him for the wonderful time!
