"Polymer" means something like "made up of many identical parts" . Polymers are chemical substances that consist of macromolecules . Polymers are the most important component in the production of plastics. They are also produced naturally, such as the polymer protein. It is therefore a general term under which thermosets, elastomers , thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomers are sorted, among others .
