Silicone ring for the beverage industry
KREMER has developed a silicone sealing profile for use by beverage manufacturers for the Bavarian staple food made from hops, barley and malt, which is used in filtration systems for the separation of suspended solids: We use butt vulcanisation to join the two ends of an endless silicone profile that has been cut to various lengths to form rings with different diameters.
FDA-approved silicone
The impact-vulcanised sealing rings made of food-grade silicone come into contact with liquid foodstuffs during the demanding steam sterilisation process. The silicone material used must therefore fulfil various requirements:
- BfR XV
- FDA 21 CFR § 177.2600
- USP Class 6
- EU EG 1935/2004
- REACH and RoHS 2 compliant
- Temperature resistance: -40°C to +200 °C
