Rapid Prototyping: What is it?

Rapid prototyping is the generic term for innovative manufacturing processes for the cost-effective production of prototypes for tools or molded parts . Using this process, a prototype can be created before expensive series production, which enables functions and properties to be tested. Common processes are 3D printing , selective laser sintering, stereolithography, vacuum casting technology and water jet cutting.
