MVQ
Silicone rubber (MVQ, VMQ)
Silicone has good high and low temperature behavior, good weather resistance and chemical resistance and physiological properties. However, its mechanical properties are moderate and it is not resistant to mineral oils.
Silicone is preferred for hot air up to +210 °C / special qualities up to +250 °C or even down to -100 °C because its mechanical properties hardly change over the entire temperature range. MVQ, also known as VMQ , should not be used as a material for dynamic seals.
Temperature range : -55 to +210°C
Applications : Silicone rubber is a preferred material for molded parts , O-rings and flat seals in the food industry or for electrical insulators. Also available with approvals (e.g. FDA, KTW, BfR, DVGW, etc.).
Disposal
According to the “Regulation on the European Waste Catalogue (AVV)”, the waste product from MVQ can be classified according to Chapter 7 “Wastes from organic chemical processes” and the waste code 07 02 17. This waste code stands for waste classified as non-hazardous.
They can therefore be disposed of in normal household quantities with normal household waste. Please use the container provided by your public waste disposal authority for residual waste as the appropriate disposal container.
