Behavior against liquids, vapors and gases (DIN 53521)

Vulcanizates that are exposed to oils, solvents, acids, alkalis, water vapor, gases or similar contact media change their original properties after a certain time. The absorption of the media and the release of mixture components from the rubber lead to swelling , which impairs the mechanical properties. To determine these changes in value, the vulcanizates are exposed to the contact media for a certain time at certain temperatures.
